DBRC takes an important step towards digital administrative law in Flanders

DBRC takes an important step towards digital administrative justice in Flanders
The Service of the Administrative Law Courts (DBRC) supports and oversees three independent Flemish administrative courts: the Environmental Enforcement College, the Council for Permit Disputes, and the Council for Election Disputes.

When a dispute is submitted to the DBRC, the relevant court commences proceedings. The processing time of the cases can vary from a few weeks to several years. Judges, referendums, and court staff ensure the legally and administratively correct handling and assessment in the various courts.

Complex cases follow up

The DBRC was looking for a comprehensive solution to manage the often complex files, tailored to the specific procedures and adaptable.
Another requirement was the user-friendliness of the system and convincing the users to engage in the process from the very beginning.

A complete solution for digital work

Adaptive Case Management by Nimbl (an Anchr solution) configures a total solution for digital work, based on its Adaptive Case Management platform. This is done in close consultation with the end users, such as judges, court staff, and clerks.

The 'STEFFI' project (STable and EFFIcient) is explicitly customer-oriented, as the Adaptive Case Management platform is easily adjustable to specific needs and there is the possibility to further expand the developed system in the future.

A result to be proud of

Thanks to the implementation of Adaptive Case Management, the DBRC now enjoys the following benefits:

  • Evolution from a paper to a digital organisation
  • One central case management system that makes tracking files easier
  • A government that understands you better
