An organization-wide platform for the Agency for Home Affairs

The Agency for Home Affairs helps to build a sustainable and democratic coexistence in diversity. They do so by connecting and strengthening citizens and governance. ABB creates a framework for a high-quality, efficient and coherent Flemish policy on domestic administration, cities, integration in Flanders, so that local and provincial authorities and organizations from the integration sector can provide quality services to citizens. In concrete terms, ABB works for municipalities, OCMWs, provinces, inter-municipal partnerships and autonomous municipal and provincial companies.

We answer the predefined architecture with a number of technologies: Nimbl case management, SharePoint document management, Drools rules management and a Red Hat JBoss Fuse Enterprise Service Bus. On this central generic platform, ABB's core administrative tasks such as mail processing, complaints, decisions, advice, subsidies et cetera are elaborated.

ABB now works in 1 uniform environment with screens that are always built with familiar views (Nimbl widgets) for every type of administration. At the top of the application, one selects the relevant ‘department’ or case type. From the overview lists, one works on (new) cases and tasks. 

As an impact on the organisation, especially the phasing and scalability of the platform is a big win for ABB. From analysis to implementation, it takes an average of 3 months to a finished version on the production environment. This allows ABB's business to very quickly carry out impact on their operations and steer the organisation.

The system supports ABB's employees in their operations and helps ensure that 99%+ correct recommendations are delivered, also supported by deadline monitoring. Central processing of communications ensures efficient flow to the relevant cases.
